Gritz 1.2738 pre-hardened plastic mold steel with approximately 1% nickel content added for good pre-hardening. Due to the addition of nickel elements to improve its hardenability, large cross-section thick plate hardness distribution is uniform. Mainly used in large plastic molds, mold frame, such as car bumpers, TV shell molds. Suitable for molds that require high finish such as the production of hard rubber PS and super unquenched rubber ABS.

Gritz 1.2738 pre-hardened plastic mold steel has the following characteristics:
Excellent machinability, easy to cut and polish and electro-etching, uniform hardness in cross section;
High polishing performance, good strong toughness, can be nitrided or chromium plated;
Pre-hardened plastic mold steel, can be applied nitriding;
Possibility of surface treatment (e.g. chrome plating);
Gritz 1.2738 mold steel has a nickel content, uniform hardness, superior machinability and polishability. Suitable for large-scale, especially for thicknesses greater than 400mm, plastic molds requiring uniform hardness, high toughness and good surface polishing properties, such as TV frames and backshells, copier shells, bumpers, shock absorbers, instrument panels and other large-scale molds, as well as garbage can molds, die-casting mold frames, and so on.
