The ASP23 high speed steel, also known as PM 23 powder high speed steel, is a chromium, molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium alloy powder high speed steel from Sweden. If the enterprise pursuit of high wear-resistant mold, then it will inevitably lose some of the toughness of the mold material, and vice versa. However, in many cases the mold to have high wear resistance at the same time as the same high toughness. High alloy tool steel is usually more difficult to machine and heat treat than low alloy tool steel. As a result, high alloy tool steel molds are more expensive to produce. Desong mold steel imported PM 23 by powder metallurgy steelmaking technology smelting, it than the general traditional process of manufacturing similar high-speed steel and some high-alloy cold work tool steel has better machinability. Dimensional stability during heat treatment is better and more predictable than conventionally manufactured high alloy steels. Combined with its high hardness, high toughness and high temperature tempering characteristics, this means that PM23 HSS is well suited to surface coatings and is particularly suitable for PVD coating treatments.
PM23?HSS is particularly suitable for undercutting and forming of thin machined materials, or where mold failure is due to mixed abrasive and adhesive wear, or just abrasive wear, or where there is a high risk of plastic deformation of the surface. Typical applications: undercutting of medium or high carbon steels; punching hard materials such as hardened steel plates or cold rolled steel strips; cutting tools such as gear processing tools, drilling, tapping; plastic molds subject to abrasive wear; parts of plastic molding machines such as screws, barrels, nozzles, injection heads, one-way annular valves, pelletizing knives, crushing knives, etc.; semiconductor IC molds such as encapsulation molds, sliding blocks, etc.
